I just started this job and get paid every two weeks. they only gave me three work shirts and they're already dirty. Right now, I just don't have the money to go out and buy laundry soap. I'm just wondering washing them just in cold water or warm water will it get them clean enough to be passable. I could buy laundry soap from dollar tree but not sure how good it will be only being $1.00. I usually use Tide, but Tide is expensive.
Congratulations on your new job! You can wash them in cold water and use any soap that you already have. You can wet the shirts and rub the dirty spots with a bar of soap, you can use dish soap or shampoo. Make sure to rinse them well. You could also borrow some laundry detergent and return it when you buy some. I agree with you the cheapest laundry detergent is hardly worth buying. Look for coupons in the paper or online for Tide or purchase the next one up from the cheapest. You can also use half of what it says on the bottle or box and see if that works as well, I have found it does. You can also use baking soda and vinegar to get stains out. Iron the shirts if you can, it makes a big difference.
